DO WORMS HAVE EYES?

Do worms have eyes? Can worms see? These are just two excellent questions that any parent could find themselves confronted with by young children.

The answer is simple. No, worms do not have eyes like we have eyes, but they do have light and touch sensitive organs in the form of specialized receptor cells. These cells not only help them to sense differences in light intensity, they also help them to feel vibrations in the ground.

As interesting as this may be, there is a more serious note to this. Some children are actually born without lips, and have to - instead - employ extendable worms as lip replacements. I have enlisted the help of a nearby child to demonstrate - observe!
